I am a theoretical biologist and my research focuses on fundamental questions at the interface of ecology and evolution using a combination of theoretical, statistical and computational approaches. I am currently exploring the following general questions:
- How does complex ecological dynamics arise in simple ecological models and what role does it play in evolution
- What role does phenotypic plasticity play in evolutionary diversification
- How does the phenology affect evolution?
In addition, I am also developing more efficient computational algorithms for modelling the evolutionary dynamics of quantitative traits and new statistical methods for predictive modelling of forest insect dynamics across spatial and temporal scales.

Occasionally I do field work but it usually ends badly…
